2nd ANNUAL”EVENING OF JAZZ” FUNDRAISING EVENT  FEATURING JAZZ KEYBOARDIST/ARRANGER BOB BALDWIN
TO BENEFIT ORGAN DONORS AND RECIPIENTS

Mike Jones, Organ Donor and Kidney Recipient...

"When I met this fine gentleman in Irvine, Ca. in 2003
at the Newport Beach Jazz Fest, I realized I was meeting someone very special.  This is an individual who not only gave a part of his living organs to assist in the life of another human being, but his blessing was returned to him in the form of a kidney.  This gesture reminds us all that when we give of ourselves, we are blessed by the heavens in more ways we could humanly imagine.  On top of everything else, Mike Jones is one of the most genuine individuals I've ever met with the personality that speaks life.

Please show your support of this beautiful human being by either coming to support the event, or offer a donation so that he can continue a simple and modest lifestyle. His cause is powerful and his story is enamoring.

Thank you."

Sincerely,
Bob Baldwin

(January 27, 2004, Los Angeles, CA)  Mike Jones, kidney recipient, organ donor educator, and President and CEO of the One Miracle Celebration of Life Foundation, presents the 2nd Annual “Evening of Jazz” fundraising event

Featuring Bob Baldwin & Friends on March 7, 2004 at Platinum Live in Studio City
from 7pm – 10pm

The event is a kick-off celebration to the multitude of jazz events held throughout the various cities and across the nation. It is a fundraising event for the One Miracle Celebration of Life Foundation to help bring awareness and educate the public on how to give the “gift of life” and remain healthy in the process.  Mike Jones was blessed to receive a kidney after waiting five long years.  He refused to let dialysis stop him from leading a normal productive life. On September 25, 2001, Jones, a young African-American Christian man, received the “gift of life” from his donor, Patricia Abdullah, a White Muslim woman whom he met while enrolled in a four-day Personal Self-Development seminar earlier that year. After the surgery, Jones was told that it would take him in excess of a year to get back to his normal course of activities. He was able to participate with his normal activities within 6 months of his transplant.

In July 2002, Mike participated in the Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Triathlon Relay where he rode 24.8 miles on his bicycle. September 25, 2002, he celebrated his One Year Anniversary as a “Gift of Life” recipient where he helped raise money for the SALUD Foundation to open the first dialysis center in South Africa. On January 1, 2004, Jones and his donor Patricia Abdullah, rode the inaugural “Coalition on Donation” float in the 115th Annual 2004 Tournament of Roses Parade® along with 20 other transplant recipients, organ donors and donor family members. Jones says, “It was truly a miracle to be part of such a spectacular national event, which helped spread the word about organ donation. More awareness needs to be made by people like myself who have personally experienced this life-threatening condition. With the launch of my new foundation and this Evening of Jazz event, I will continue to educate people on how to give the “gift of life” (i.e. kidney, liver, bone marrow or blood transfusion) and remain healthy in the process.”

Last year, Mike celebrated the launch of his dream – the One Miracle Celebration of Life Foundation by hosting “An Evening of Jazz” with composer, arranger, and producer Paul Jackson, Jr. and Friends. Special guests included Patrice Rushen, Harvey Mason, Ndugu Chancellor, Michael Lington, and Paul Ivan.

This year, Keyboardist/Arranger Bob Baldwin will be the featured smooth jazz artist. His newest CD titled, “Brazil Chill” which was recorded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is due to be released on March 16, 2004. Other special guests who will be joining Baldwin on stage, who is available for interviews, include Paul Jackson, Jr., and Greg Adams, just to name a few. Pat Prescott, Smooth Jazz Radio Personality on the #1 Jazz station 94.7 The Wave, will be the event’s Mistress of Ceremony.

Ticket prices are $50 General Admission and $100 VIP Admission. Tickets are available at Inglewood Tickets (310) 671-6400 or call (877) 383-6453. Proceeds to benefit the One Miracle Celebration of Life Foundation  (877) 383-6453.   If you are unable to attend the event for any reason, you may contact Mike Jones directly
